Emily Nguyen

I am a Vietnamese-American from Gretna, Louisiana. I have a tabby cat named Bogie, whom I rescued three years ago. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, whether it’s playing board games or watching LSU games. I also enjoy reading, specifically books written by or about Asian heritage and culture, such as Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner and Things We Lost to the Water by Eric Nguyen.

My major in Mechanical Engineering, accompanied by a minor in Business Administration, has equipped me with critical problem-solving skills grounded in mathematics, physics, and materials science.

Through this foundation, I’ve developed a strong interest in energy production—specifically in applying engineering analysis to the planning and design of transmission lines that meet safety and performance standards. This interest has guided my professional goals and shaped the direction I hope to take after graduation.
